MIKE WEATHERFORD: Kanye will perform at Red Rock Resort
The good news: You can still see Kanye West out in the suburbs.
The bad news: You've got to leave the bikinis and Speedos at home. Or at least understand you'll be wearing them on dry land.
Almost losing West's concert on April 25 motivated Stations Casinos to invest in new staging that will put Red Rock Resort in the running for more big tours.
Originally, the casino planned to host West in the outdoor pool area. But an on-sale date for the show was withdrawn two weeks ago.
After West won four Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album for "Graduation," he decided to go out with a bigger production, explains Joe Santiago, who oversees entertainment for Stations. The pool area could no longer support the requirements for how much weight would be suspended over the stage.
However, "We didn't want to give up just because (the show) was too big," Santiago says. After reconsidering, a new temporary venue will be built in a parking area, one with a covered stage that can support other large tours down the road.
Tickets go back on sale Friday for West's "Glow in the Dark" tour with Lupe Fiasco and N.E.R.D. The set-up for about 7,500 people will be similar to what the Hard Rock Hotel has done for outdoor concerts in its parking lot. All tickets for West's concert will be general admission, but the venue will have some bleacher seating.
The pool area is still home to a concert series that includes Dierks Bentley, May 2; Crosby, Stills and Nash, June 20; Peter Frampton, July 11 and UB40 on Aug. 9. The pool configuration holds about 4,000 people.
A permanent amphitheatre with a covered stage was long discussed for Sunset Station, and there's still space set aside for one in Red Rock's comprehensive plan. Until then, the parking lot venue can be stored and set up whenever needed. ...
Broadway musicals haven't all been home runs on the Strip, so where do casinos look next? I'm predicting ... psychics, spiritualists and mediums.
Sylvia Browne of "Montel" fame is back at the Excalibur this weekend, and March 15 offers both Browne and John Edward, best known for his Sci-Fi Channel series "Crossing Over with John Edward" at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Edward is booked for return visits April 13 and May 25.
Browne has proven to be a "very, very steady" draw at the Excalibur, says producer Adam Steck. She's here every month this year for 10 days at a time. "Even in January, when all shows are down (in attendance), we did better than most shows."
But how good is it for the psychics' tenuous credibility to share marquee space with Louie Anderson or Toni Braxton?
Could they no longer be denying it's all showbiz, much in the way that the World Wrestling Federation eventually changed its name to World Wrestling Entertainment?

The Penn & Teller show at the Rio currently features a "Psychic comedian" segment in which Jillette uses a joke book and audience recruit to partially explain the "cold reading" method the psychics are said to employ. Penn & Teller also devoted a segment of their Showtime series "Bullshit!" to "cheesy psychic superstar" Edward and others who speak to the dead.
Steck calls Browne's Las Vegas venture "more of a seminar" than a show, and says that in the all-important area of customer satisfaction, "She's doing a lot of good things for people. They're getting a lot of closure." ...
George Wallace has been generous in sharing his Flamingo Las Vegas stage with everyone from reclusive funk pioneer Sly Stone to up-and-coming local a capella group Mosaic. Now come the violin triplets from Poland.
The three sisters of Alizma all have masters degrees in violin performance and have been working with local producer Blair Farrington to polish their act. They open Wallace's show through Saturday.

How to read tarot cards
JAMES STYLE
"Well I can see that your sister is about to be married and it looks as if you've got to move house" is Michele's opening gambit. I try to nod nonchalantly, but my astonishment that a complete stranger can know these things about me shines throug h. "Good aren't I" she quips. From her tiny office in London's Covent Garden Michele Knight has built up a formidable reputation as a top notch Tarot card reader. She continues to reel off fact after fact, most of which, with the benefit of hindsight I can say have come true Both Michele and Ernie James, tarot reader to the stars, agree that "it's all in the cards". The cards on which they both rely are a 72 card deck , the origins of which are unclear. The deck roughly resembles an ordinary pack of playing cards, numbere d cards in four suits called the minor arcana, and 22 picture cards, called the major arcana. It is within these 22 that the "magic" lies. These picture cards, often beautifully illustrated, apparently represent the circle of life. They have names like T he Lovers, the Tower, The Star, Death or the Hanged Man and are central to any interpretation. " Each card can have many different meanings, on many different levels" James explains, "I tell everyone I'm training, 'Look at the card and tell me what you see', but it's no bloody good if they don't know what they're looking at." James stresses that under no circumstances must the cards be taken at face value. "They operate on many levels," he explains. "There's the material, what the figure is actually doing in the picture; the spiritual, what the picture brings to mind andthe numerology. Even the colours used in the card can be important." Once the client has made a selection, Knight reveals that all is not necessarily what it seems. "People are often frightened when the they pick the Death card," she explains, " but it can be really good, signalling the end of something and the beginning of something new." "Each card will have a different meaning depending on where it appears in the spread" James insists. The spread is the other essential tool of the Tarot reader. The client is asked to shuffle the pack and then lays them out in a specific pattern. James has pioneered his own spread called the Astro and according to him, it's the only one which can some up the whole of a person's life. In the Astro spread twelve cards are picked and each represents a different part o fthat individuals life: for ex ample the sixth card concerns work, the seventh partnership, the 10th career, the 11th friendships and so on. Knight uses a more traditional spread called the Celtic Cross. But for more in-depth readings, especially concerning a specific question from the client, both James and Knight will employ more sophisticated spreads. " Reading the tarot is an instinctive thing," Knight says. "You open yourself up to it and try not to let your intellect get in the way." Both James and Knight run courses to train aspiring tarot readers and while recognising that some people are naturals, they admit that anyone can be trained to do it. But while James reckons he can train someone up in a weekend, Knight advocates a long er apprenticeship. "When someone comes to you wanting their tarot read, they're putting a lot of trust in you," she says. "Unqualified readers can do a lot of harm." James, whose client list is said to include royalty, is about to publish his own Tarot manual (including a CD-rom version, complete with built-in predictor) and he's just designed three new decks. Meanwhile, Knight has just finished the pilot for a late-night chat-show. Perhaps James and his cards can reveal its fate.

How Psychic - Concentration Can Fulfill Your Desire

You have all read of "Aladdin's Lamp," which accomplished such wonderful things. This, of course, is only a fairy story, but it illustrates the fact that man has within him the power, if he is able to use it, to gratify his every wish.
If you are unable to satisfy your deepest longings it is time you learned how to use your God-given powers. You will soon be conscious that you have latent powers within capable when once developed of revealing to you priceless knowledge and unlimited possibilities of success.
Man should have plenty of everything and not merely substance to live on as so many have. All natural desires can be realized. It would be wrong for the Infinite to create wants that could not be supplied. Man's very soul is in his power to think, and it, therefore, is the essence of all created things. Every instinct of man leads to thought, and in every thought there is great possibility because true thought development, when allied to those mysterious powers which perhaps transcend it, has been the cause of all the world's true progress.
In the silence we become conscious of "that something" which transcends thought and which uses thought as a medium for expression. Many have glimpses of "that something," but few ever reach the state where the mind is steady enough to fathom these depths. Silent, concentrated thought is more potent than spoken words, for speech distracts from the focusing power of the mind by drawing more and more attention to the without.
Man must learn more and more to depend on himself; to seek more for the Infinite within. It is from this source alone that he ever gains the power to solve his practical difficulties. No one should give up when there is always the resources of Infinity. The cause of failure is that men search in the wrong direction for success, because they are not conscious of their real powers that when used are capable of guiding them.
The Infinite within is foreign to those persons who go through life without developing their spiritual powers. But the Infinite helps only he who helps himself. There is no such thing as a Special "Providence." Man will not receive help from the Infinite except to the extent that he believes and hopes and prays for help from this great source.
Concentrate on What You Want and Get It. The weakling is controlled by conditions. The strong man controls conditions. You can be either the conqueror or the conquered. By the law of Psychic - Concentration you can achieve your heart's desire. This law is so powerful that that which at first seems impossible becomes attainable.
By this law what you at first see as a dream becomes a reality.
Remember that the first step in Psychic - Concentration is to form a Mental Image of what you wish to accomplish. This image becomes a thought-seed that attracts thoughts of a similar nature. It may seem that it would be unnecessary to caution you to concentrate only upon achievement that will be good for you and work no harm to another, but there are many who forget others and their rights, in their anxiety to achieve success. All good things are possible for you to have, but only as you bring your forces into harmony with that law that requires that we mete out justice to fellow travelers as we journey along life's road. So first think over the thing wanted and if it would be good for you to have; say, "I want to do this; I am going to work to secure it. The way will be open for me."
If you fully grasp mentally the thought of success and hold it in mind each day, you gradually make a pattern or mold which in time will materialize. But by all means keep free from doubt and fear, the destructive forces. Never allow these to become associated with your thoughts.
At last you will create the desired conditions and receive help in many unlooked-for ways that will lift you out of the undesired environment. Life will then seem very different to you, for you will have found happiness through awakening within yourself the power to become the master of circumstances instead of their slave.
To the beginner in this line of thought some of the things stated in this book may sound strange, even absurd, but, instead of condemning them, give them a trial. You will find they will work out.
The inventor has to work out his idea mentally before he produces it materially. The architect first sees the mental picture of the house he is to plan and from this works out the one we see. Every object, every enterprise, must first be mentally created.
I know a man that started in business with thirteen cents and not a dollar's worth of credit. In ten years he has built up a large and profitable business. He attributes his success to two things--belief that he would succeed and hard work. There were times when it did not look like he could weather the storm. He was being pressed by his creditors who considered him bankrupt. They would have taken fifty cents on the dollar for his notes and considered themselves lucky. But by keeping up a bold front he got an extension of time when needed. When absolutely necessary for him to raise a certain sum at a certain time he always did it. When he had heavy bills to meet he would make up his mind that certain people that owed him would pay by a certain date and they always did. 'You can tell a lot about someone by looking at their bottom,' she says. 'I've done readings in the UK, the US and across Europe. Sometimes I read from pictures, as with Robbie Williams, at other times I do them "in the flesh", such as the one I did for Darius recently. I predicted he'll make it big in the US.'
But just what does Sam look for when she reads a bum? 'I think it's my experience as a medium that helps me make sense of the lines and shapes on a person's bottom,' she explains. 'The main lines are on the shelf of the bottom, where it meets the legs, and just above it. Sometimes, shapes within these lines tell me things - for example, I often see the shape of a heart, which indicates love. Lines at the bottom of the spine indicate how many children a person is going to have, and a cluster of lines indicate a change is in store - maybe a move or a new job. The main rules are the left cheek signifies events that have happened in the past, such as love life and career matters. The right cheek is for events in the future, and is where I read what is going to happen to a person. The central "crack" - where the two buttocks join - is where you would see events for the present.'

As for the arse reading... Well yes, my bum is flat and she's quite right that I don't go to the gym, but frankly, you can tell by looking I don't - it's not very well-toned. In fact, you can tell by any part of my body I don't go to the gym - you don't need to be an expert arse reader. Just look at my pot belly and pigeon chest!
I do have a nervous energy like Sam said, and I am hot-headed, but I'm actually quite lazy and I sit around and relax as much as I can. I do get what I want - as long as it's not too much trouble.
I'm close to my family, but closer to my brother than my sister. All the stuff about my relationship is true - I am in love with my girlfriend and it's a very strong relationship. How to read tarot cards
JAMES STYLE
"Well I can see that your sister is about to be married and it looks as if you've got to move house" is Michele's opening gambit. I try to nod nonchalantly, but my astonishment that a complete stranger can know these things about me shines throug h. "Good aren't I" she quips. From her tiny office in London's Covent Garden Michele Knight has built up a formidable reputation as a top notch Tarot card reader. She continues to reel off fact after fact, most of which, with the benefit of hindsight I can say have come true Both Michele and Ernie James, tarot reader to the stars, agree that "it's all in the cards". The cards on which they both rely are a 72 card deck , the origins of which are unclear. The deck roughly resembles an ordinary pack of playing cards, numbere d cards in four suits called the minor arcana, and 22 picture cards, called the major arcana. It is within these 22 that the "magic" lies. These picture cards, often beautifully illustrated, apparently represent the circle of life. They have names like T he Lovers, the Tower, The Star, Death or the Hanged Man and are central to any interpretation. " Each card can have many different meanings, on many different levels" James explains, "I tell everyone I'm training, 'Look at the card and tell me what you see', but it's no bloody good if they don't know what they're looking at." James stresses that under no circumstances must the cards be taken at face value. "They operate on many levels," he explains. "There's the material, what the figure is actually doing in the picture; the spiritual, what the picture brings to mind andthe numerology. Even the colours used in the card can be important." Once the client has made a selection, Knight reveals that all is not necessarily what it seems. "People are often frightened when the they pick the Death card," she explains, " but it can be really good, signalling the end of something and the beginning of something new." "Each card will have a different meaning depending on where it appears in the spread" James insists. The spread is the other essential tool of the Tarot reader. The client is asked to shuffle the pack and then lays them out in a specific pattern. James has pioneered his own spread called the Astro and according to him, it's the only one which can some up the whole of a person's life. In the Astro spread twelve cards are picked and each represents a different part o fthat individuals life: for ex ample the sixth card concerns work, the seventh partnership, the 10th career, the 11th friendships and so on. Knight uses a more traditional spread called the Celtic Cross. But for more in-depth readings, especially concerning a specific question from the client, both James and Knight will employ more sophisticated spreads. " Reading the tarot is an instinctive thing," Knight says. "You open yourself up to it and try not to let your intellect get in the way." Both James and Knight run courses to train aspiring tarot readers and while recognising that some people are naturals, they admit that anyone can be trained to do it. But while James reckons he can train someone up in a weekend, Knight advocates a long er apprenticeship. "When someone comes to you wanting their tarot read, they're putting a lot of trust in you," she says. "Unqualified readers can do a lot of harm." James, whose client list is said to include royalty, is about to publish his own Tarot manual (including a CD-rom version, complete with built-in predictor) and he's just designed three new decks. Meanwhile, Knight has just finished the pilot for a late-night chat-show. Perhaps James and his cards can reveal its fate.

How Psychic - Concentration Can Fulfill Your Desire

You have all read of "Aladdin's Lamp," which accomplished such wonderful things. This, of course, is only a fairy story, but it illustrates the fact that man has within him the power, if he is able to use it, to gratify his every wish.
If you are unable to satisfy your deepest longings it is time you learned how to use your God-given powers. You will soon be conscious that you have latent powers within capable when once developed of revealing to you priceless knowledge and unlimited possibilities of success.
Man should have plenty of everything and not merely substance to live on as so many have. All natural desires can be realized. It would be wrong for the Infinite to create wants that could not be supplied. Man's very soul is in his power to think, and it, therefore, is the essence of all created things. Every instinct of man leads to thought, and in every thought there is great possibility because true thought development, when allied to those mysterious powers which perhaps transcend it, has been the cause of all the world's true progress.
In the silence we become conscious of "that something" which transcends thought and which uses thought as a medium for expression. Many have glimpses of "that something," but few ever reach the state where the mind is steady enough to fathom these depths. Silent, concentrated thought is more potent than spoken words, for speech distracts from the focusing power of the mind by drawing more and more attention to the without.
Man must learn more and more to depend on himself; to seek more for the Infinite within. It is from this source alone that he ever gains the power to solve his practical difficulties. No one should give up when there is always the resources of Infinity. The cause of failure is that men search in the wrong direction for success, because they are not conscious of their real powers that when used are capable of guiding them.
The Infinite within is foreign to those persons who go through life without developing their spiritual powers. But the Infinite helps only he who helps himself. There is no such thing as a Special "Providence." Man will not receive help from the Infinite except to the extent that he believes and hopes and prays for help from this great source.
Concentrate on What You Want and Get It. The weakling is controlled by conditions. The strong man controls conditions. You can be either the conqueror or the conquered. By the law of Psychic - Concentration you can achieve your heart's desire. This law is so powerful that that which at first seems impossible becomes attainable.
By this law what you at first see as a dream becomes a reality.
Remember that the first step in Psychic - Concentration is to form a Mental Image of what you wish to accomplish. This image becomes a thought-seed that attracts thoughts of a similar nature. Around this thought, when it is once planted in the imagination or creative region of the mind, you group or build associated thoughts which continue to grow as long as your desire is keen enough to compel close Psychic - Concentration.
Form the habit of thinking of something you wish to accomplish for five minutes each day. Shut every other thought out of consciousness. Be confident that you will succeed; make up your mind that all obstacles that are in your way will be overcome and you can rise above any environment.
You do this by utilizing the natural laws of the thought world which are all powerful.
A great aid in the development of Psychic - Concentration is to write out your thoughts on that which lies nearest your heart and to continue, little by little, to add to it until you have as nearly as possible exhausted the subject.
You will find that each day as you focus your forces on this thought at the center of the stream of consciousness, new plans, ideas and methods will flash into your mind. There is a law of attraction that will help you accomplish your purpose. An advertiser, for instance, gets to thinking along a certain line. He has formed his own ideas, but he wants to know what others think. He starts out to seek ideas and he soon finds plenty of books, plans, designs, etc., on the subject, although when he started he was not aware of their existence.
The same thing is true in all lines. We can attract those things that will help us. Very often we seem to receive help in a miraculous way. It may be slow in coming, but once the silent unseen forces are put into operation, they will bring results so long as we do our part. They are ever present and ready to aid those who care to use them. By forming a strong mental image of your desire, you plant the thought-seed which begins working in your interest and, in time, that desire, if in harmony with your higher nature, will materialize.
It may seem that it would be unnecessary to caution you to concentrate only upon achievement that will be good for you and work no harm to another, but there are many who forget others and their rights, in their anxiety to achieve success. All good things are possible for you to have, but only as you bring your forces into harmony with that law that requires that we mete out justice to fellow travelers as we journey along life's road. So first think over the thing wanted and if it would be good for you to have; say, "I want to do this; I am going to work to secure it. The way will be open for me."
If you fully grasp mentally the thought of success and hold it in mind each day, you gradually make a pattern or mold which in time will materialize. But by all means keep free from doubt and fear, the destructive forces. Never allow these to become associated with your thoughts.
At last you will create the desired conditions and receive help in many unlooked-for ways that will lift you out of the undesired environment. Life will then seem very different to you, for you will have found happiness through awakening within yourself the power to become the master of circumstances instead of their slave.
To the beginner in this line of thought some of the things stated in this book may sound strange, even absurd, but, instead of condemning them, give them a trial. You will find they will work out.
The inventor has to work out his idea mentally before he produces it materially. The architect first sees the mental picture of the house he is to plan and from this works out the one we see. Every object, every enterprise, must first be mentally created.
I know a man that started in business with thirteen cents and not a dollar's worth of credit. In ten years he has built up a large and profitable business. He attributes his success to two things--belief that he would succeed and hard work. There were times when it did not look like he could weather the storm. He was being pressed by his creditors who considered him bankrupt. They would have taken fifty cents on the dollar for his notes and considered themselves lucky. But by keeping up a bold front he got an extension of time when needed. When absolutely necessary for him to raise a certain sum at a certain time he always did it. When he had heavy bills to meet he would make up his mind that certain people that owed him would pay by a certain date and they always did. Sometimes he would not receive their check until the last mail of the day of the extension, and I have known him to send out a check with the prospect of receiving a check from one of his customers the following day. He would have no reason other than his belief in the power of affecting the mind of another by Psychic - Concentration of thought for expecting that check, but rarely has he been disappointed.

Sam Amos, from West Yorkshire, is one of the country's leading mediums. She reads tarot cards, sees spirits and can work out your fortune from reading your palms, but the 47-year-old mother of two also has a more bizarre talent. She's the only psychic in the UK who can predict what lies ahead by peeking at your posterior...
Just like Celebrity Big Brother star Jackie Stallone, who famously read the tushies of Posh and Becks, Sam is in demand all over the world as a respected 'rumpologist'.
'You can tell a lot about someone by looking at their bottom,' she says. 'I've done readings in the UK, the US and across Europe. Sometimes I read from pictures, as with Robbie Williams, at other times I do them "in the flesh", such as the one I did for Darius recently. I predicted he'll make it big in the US.'
But just what does Sam look for when she reads a bum? 'I think it's my experience as a medium that helps me make sense of the lines and shapes on a person's bottom,' she explains. 'The main lines are on the shelf of the bottom, where it meets the legs, and just above it. Sometimes, shapes within these lines tell me things - for example, I often see the shape of a heart, which indicates love. Lines at the bottom of the spine indicate how many children a person is going to have, and a cluster of lines indicate a change is in store - maybe a move or a new job. The main rules are the left cheek signifies events that have happened in the past, such as love life and career matters. The right cheek is for events in the future, and is where I read what is going to happen to a person. The central "crack" - where the two buttocks join - is where you would see events for the present.'
THE CELEBRITY BUM
The cheeky chap willing to bare his buttocks for a reading is comedian and TV presenter Ed Byrne, 32. He may have been on sell- out tours and performed at comedy venues worldwide, but could his future success be revealed once he drops his trousers? 'Ed has a fairly flat bottom. This signifies he has a lot of energy, which he uses on stage as opposed to down the gym. I feel she has dark hair and has a connection with beauty - maybe advising on diet or something like that.
Australia features strongly in Ed's reading - he's a hot-weather person and hates the cold. I wouldn't be surprised if within the next six years he spends a lot more time Down Under.
Ed's career took off very quickly, but he feels he kind of stumbled into it. I think his career came about as a result of something that happened to him at school. He wasn't bullied, but there was name-calling which made him think, "I'm going to do something with my life."
Though a very charming person, Ed has a short fuse and likes to dominate. He's also a perfectionist. Comedy is certainly the right career for him, but from looking at his right buttock, I can see there might be change soon. I sense he'll be getting involved in a comedy song. He's not a natural singer, but it is something people will buy. It'll be a one-off and could be later this year.
The spirit of his grandfather who passed away with cancer came through when I was doing the reading. He's Ed's guardian angel. I also sensed the spirit of a dog that passed away when Ed was little.
Ed has a lovely energy and the future is rosy, but he must watch his health. I worry about how he likes to work hard and play hard. He needs to start taking his vitamins. I don't know Ed's star sign, but I'm guessing he is Cancer or Sagittarius.'

'I went to see Sam thinking it would be light-hearted and a bit of a laugh. I reckoned she had a 50/50 chance of getting things right, which is about what happened. I wasn't prepared for her to say my grandfather - who did die of cancer - had come through. I found that quite disturbing.
As for the arse reading... Well yes, my bum is flat and she's quite right that I don't go to the gym, but frankly, you can tell by looking I don't - it's not very well-toned. In fact, you can tell by any part of my body I don't go to the gym - you don't need to be an expert arse reader. Just look at my pot belly and pigeon chest!
I do have a nervous energy like Sam said, and I am hot-headed, but I'm actually quite lazy and I sit around and relax as much as I can. I do get what I want - as long as it's not too much trouble.
I'm close to my family, but closer to my brother than my sister. All the stuff about my relationship is true - I am in love with my girlfriend and it's a very strong relationship. It wasn't an odd meeting though - we were introduced by a work colleague - and she's not in beauty, she's a comedy PR. She's naturally dark, though she's blonde at the moment - does that count?
The Australia stuff is spot on - it's my favourite place to tour - but the thing I was really intrigued by was the one-off song. I thought, "Oh yeah, that's really interesting, I'd really be into that!" At that moment I did find myself being sucked in - until she told me I was Cancer or Sagittarius. I'm an Aries.'
